A unique opportunity on industry safety!
Everyone says that safety is important, but accidents and tragedies continue to happen. They not only shatter families;
they cost company’s considerable time and money. Therefore, to assist our members, both large and small, and their
employees CARI has arranged for Mr. John Gilstrap, ISRI’s Director of Safety, to conduct a unique Managing For Safety
seminar. The day is specifically designed for owners and managers in scrap recycling companies; those that have the
authority to make changes. The seminar will cover Safety as a Management Opportunity; Setting Goals and Charting
Progress; Work Rules, Progressive Discipline and Employee Incentives; and Safety Inspections and Self-Assessment.
John Gilstrap is a frequent lecturer and keynote speaker. He has been in the safety field for 28 years, providing safety
and health guidance not just to the recycling industry, but to the explosives processing, chemical weapons, hazardous
waste and automotive service industries as well. John earned his Master of Science degree in safety from the University
of Southern California, and served 15 years in the fire and rescue service. In addition to his work in occupational
safety and health, he is also an accomplished screenwriter and a New York Times bestselling author.
