As
the voice of Canada’s recycling
industry CARI employs a Registered Lobbyist to represent our
industry. Our effective
advocacy works to minimize the negative effects of government
legislation and regulations at the local, provincial, national and
international levels.

Centre
Full
time CARI staff provide members with crucial resources to
effectively operate their businesses. These resources
include: an
environmental management handbook; an annual membership directory;
up to date information on new government legislation &
environment and safety regulations; information on new technology;
and the CARI website.
Networking
Opportunities
CARI
organizes major networking events involving hundreds of key players
in the Canadian and North American recycling industry. Its Annual Convention, Golf
Tournaments, Chapter Meetings, Consumers’ Night and Dinners enable
members to Do Business.

CARI

Scrap Metal Theft
CARI has been working towards a real and practicable solution to metal theft. In April 2008 CARI took the idea of using
a web based metal theft bulletin to ISRI. This program which is a joint CARI / ISRI undertaking is now up and running.
Only verified posting will appear on the website and be issued to CARI and ISRI members within a 250 mile radius of the
reported theft location based on postal and zip codes. CARI is now focusing on recruiting enforcement agencies into the
system.
